Conveniently located along River Road in Norco, the St. Charles Community Health Center (STCCHC) is a model for affordable, high quality care that’s close to home. This is why families living on the Eastbank of St. Charles Parish have trusted our physicians and staff with their healthcare for the past 6 years.
The clinic originally got its start in a small portable building located off of Apple Street. Shell Oil Company believed in the services that the clinic was offering to the community, so executives donated six lots along River Road for a new and improved community health center to be built. The two-story STCCHC opened its doors to patients on June 22, 2012. Today, the spacious facility not only offers preventative and diagnostic services, but houses the Access Health Louisiana (AHL) call center.
Patients at the STCCHC in Norco can take advantage of the following services: Adult and Pediatric Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Podiatry, Maternal Child Coordination, and WIC (click here for information on how to apply for WIC benefits). Clinic staff is also certified to take Medicaid applications on site (click here to find out if you qualify for Medicaid). For patients needing medications, we offer a discount pharmacy program.
While most commercial insurances, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, patients are never turned away for care due to their inability to pay. A discount sliding fee scale is offered based on a patient’s household size and income.
High standards of care, affordability and convenience are just some of the reasons why the STCCHC was recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. Our physicians and staff, many of whom are also bilingual, continually exceed national standards by offering higher quality of care at lower costs. This means a better overall healthcare experience for you our patient.
The STCCHC is a member of the Access Health Louisiana (AHL) Network, the largest network of Federally Qualified Health Centers in Louisiana.
