Access Health Louisiana (AHL) offers Behavioral Health services to students at East Jefferson High School.  East Jefferson High is one of ten school based health centers operated by AHL in the Jefferson Parish School District.  Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Melissa Keller sees students on campus.  Telemedicine services are also available this year.  Her office is located on the second floor of the high school library.  She offers individual and group therapy counseling sessions for stress and anger management, trauma, depression, anxiety, bullying or even relationships.  Parents can request that their child be seen by Ms. Keller by calling the front office of East Jefferson High School at (504) 888-7171.

All students must have a current consent and enrollment form on file to be seen at East Jefferson High for Behavioral Health services.  Consent and enrollment forms are sent home at the beginning of the year; however, parents may sign their child up for services at any time during the school year.  Digital consent forms may also be found on the right hand side of this webpage.

Co-payments are waived for all students and faculty/staff enrolled at our SBHC.  Commercial insurances including Medicaid and Medicare are accepted.  Students who are uninsured can also receive care with a consent and enrollment form on file with the health center.  Any medications prescribed for your child may be filled through the Access Health Louisiana Pharmacy and delivered to your home.  We also work with nearby Walgreens and CVS pharmacies and can have most prescriptions filled at a discounted rate.

If you have an emergency outside of school hours, please call 9-1-1.

A Special Message from Ms. Keller:

“Hi, my name is Melissa Keller and I have 22 years of experience as a social worker in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. For the past 8 years, I have been working around the corner from East Jefferson High School at Bridgedale Elementary School as the Early Intervention Specialist.  During my time in the school system, I have worked as both an Early Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Social Worker.  Prior to entering JPPSS, I worked as a substance abuse counselor for Jefferson Parish’s Drug Court Program.   I look forward to serving the students of East Jefferson High School by providing both individual and group therapy sessions.”
