Access Health Louisiana’s St. Tammany Community Health Center Behavioral Health Services is conveniently located in Slidell on Christian Lane near Robert Blvd.  The behavioral health center opened its doors in 2003 under the Acadian Care name with the goal of providing the highest quality service to the community.  In 2020, Acadian Care joined the Access Health Louisiana Network to expand services for its patients.  Psychiatrist Richard Kutner and his team help patients with private, individual therapy sessions.   At the St. Tammany Community Health Center, we serve both children and adults.  We also provide comprehensive psychological testing.  St. Tammany Community Health Center Behavioral Health is also one of the only facilities in the region that specializes in using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to treat depression and anxiety.  TMS is focused magnetic energy directed to the left side of the brain’s front cortex.

Our skilled providers also specialize in treating:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Autism
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • A variety of other psychological disorders including psychological testing

For added convenience, we also offer telemedicine for our patients.  Patients can speak to their provider from the convenience of their desktop or mobile device during their scheduled appointment time.  Telemedicine is the perfect complement to on-going patient care.  St. Tammany Community Health Center Behavioral Health offers almost all of its services via telemedicine.  Patients can use it to speak to their psychiatrist to about a prescription or refill, therapeutic options or assist in scheduling child or senior care appointments.

Certain services must be provided in one of the Access Health Louisiana offices. Any initial assessments or psychological testing must be done on-site. In the early stages of evaluating and diagnosing your condition, your provider needs to see you in person.  This allows your provider to observe your overall health and behaviors. It’s also a good way for you to begin to develop your relationship.

While most commercial insurances, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, patients are never turned away for care due to their inability to pay.  A discount sliding fee scale is offered based on a patient’s household size and income.

Patients can also receive primary care, podiatry, health coaching and WIC services next door at our St. Tammany Community Health Center at 501 Robert Blvd.

Another benefit of being an Access Health Louisiana patient is that we can assist you in applying for Medicaid benefits right on site (click here to see if you qualify for Medicaid). Patients can also purchase prescription medications at a reduced rate through our discount pharmacy programMost prescriptions can be filled at convenient local pharmacies right where you live.

The St. Tammany Community Health Center is a member of the Access Health Louisiana (AHL) Network, the largest network of Federally Qualified Health Centers in Louisiana.
