School-Based Health Centers

Access Health Louisiana (AHL) operates eleven school based health centers within Jefferson, Orleans, St. Charles, Allen & Iberville parishes.  These clinics are run in partnership with the parish school systems.  Students and staff can get access to high quality care throughout the school year on all campuses.  Those services include:  Adult and Pediatric Primary Care as well as Behavioral Health.

AHL operates health centers at the following schools:   Bonnabel High School, John Ehret High School, Joshua Butler Elementary School, Plaquemine High School, Paradis Wellness Center (serving R.J. Vial Elementary and J.B. Martin Middle Schools), Albert Cammon Wellness Center (serving Albert Cammon Middle School and St. Rose Elementary) Riverdale High School, Warren Easton Charter High School, West Jefferson High School, Iberville Elementary School and MSA-West Academy.

At the beginning of each school year, parents are given the opportunity to sign consent forms which allow students to receive healthcare at school.  While commercial insurances and Medicaid are accepted, students are never turned away for care due to a family’s inability to pay. No co-payments are ever collected.  Students who are patients of AHL school based health centers can also get their medications filled at reduced rates at local pharmacies through our discount pharmacy program.

Students and staff can still access medical assistance after the clinic is closed for the school day.  To do so, just call your school based health center phone number and your call will be routed to after hours’ staff who can assist you.  In case of a medical emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
