This clinic in Chalmette offers patients a wide variety of services all housed in one location. Services at this site include: Adult and Pediatric Primary Care, Behavioral Health, WIC and even diabetes education classes. Unique to the St. Bernard location is the Industrial Medicine department. This department helps patients needing Department of Transportation physicals, Non-DOT physicals, Return to work confirmations, Workman’s comp, drug testing, Pulmonary function tests, Audiometric testing, as well as Respirator FIT tests.
Our clinic was recently asked by St. Bernard Parish leaders to take over its WIC (Women, Infants and Children) department. WIC staff helps moms and mothers of young children gain access to nutritious food through the government’s supplemental food program. This St. Bernard Community Health Center is open six days a week which makes scheduling appointments, even same-day visits, easy for patients. For patients needing prescription medications, you can access discounted prescription drugs through the federal 340B program. While most commercial insurances, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, patients are never turned away for care due to their inability to pay. A sliding fee scale is offered based on a patient’s household size and income.
