Access Health Louisiana (AHL) employees are focused on delivering the highest quality of care to nearly 50,000 patients across southeast and central Louisiana.  Our community health centers and school-based health centers provide integrated care both in-person and virtually in 16 parishes.  The Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) ranks AHL in the top 10% of all health centers nationwide based on Clinical Quality Measures.  Our community health centers have also received a Health Disparities Reducer Award and Access Enhancer Award for increasing access to healthcare and improving health outcomes for racial and ethnic minorities.  We’re also recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) based upon standards of patient safety and quality.  This means that AHL adheres to evidence-based standards shown to improve quality, health and safety of its patients, as well as reduced costs.

Our clinics provide integrated healthcare and utilize Athena Health electronic medical record (EMR) system.  Access Health Louisiana is a leader in innovation being the first Federally Qualified Health Center in the state to integrate LINKS immunization records within its EMR.  Our Health Information & Technology Division puts security of health information as its highest priority.  Advanced digital communications systems allow clinical teams to coordinate care for patients while maintaining the privacy of critical health information.  Telemedicine is also utilized to provide convenient, safe and private medical care from the comfort of patient’s homes.

FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER-HAMMOND, LA

Employee Perks and Benefits

Paid Time Off

Paid time office accrual begins on the first day of employment.  Employees are eligible to use PTO after 90 days of employment.

Holidays

Our organization observes eleven holidays per calendar year.

Jury Duty Leave

Full time employees who have completed 90 calendar days of service may request up to 10 days of paid jury duty leave in a 36 month period.

Bereavement Leave

Full-time and part-time employees may request up to 3 days of bereavement leave for immediate family members.  Immediate family is defined as a spouse or significant other, grandparent, parent, sibling, child, grandchild and any dependent residing with the employee.  In addition, employees are eligible for 1 day of bereavement leave with pay for an aunt, uncle, niece or nephew.

Family Medical Leave

Employees are eligible for up to 12 weeks of FMLA after one year of service and 1250 hours worked.  AHL also offers a six-week Medical Leave of Absence (MLOA) for employees who do not qualify for FMLA.

Supplemental Insurance

Supplemental Insurance (such as Group Critical Illness, Cancer Insurance, Dental, Vision, Group Accident, Hospital Protection, Life Insurance, etc.) are available by payroll deduction through AFLAC, Washington National and New York Life.

403(b) Retirement Plan

Employees working 20+ hour work weeks are eligible to join the 403(b) plan during initial enrollment or during the annual retirement open enrollment period.  New hires can join the plan within 30 days of hire.  Pre-tax or after-tax contributions may be made into the plan.  AHL matches elective deferrals up to 4% of the employee’s compensation per payroll.

Medical, Dental & Vision

Employees premium contributions for medical, dental, and vision coverage are deducted from their paychecks on a pre-tax basis meaning before federal and state income taxes and FICA taxes are calculated.  Employee co-pays are waived for routine visits with an AHL provider at one of our health centers.

Health Club Reimbursement

Self-care is extremely important.  AHL reimburses employees up to $15 per month for maintaining health club or other weight management membership with at least four visits per month.

Malpractice Insurance

Malpractice insurance is paid for providers.

Continuing Medical Education

Five continuing medical education (CME) days are allocated per calendar year for providers with $1,000 reimbursable expense allowance.

Life & Disability Insurance

Additional life and long-term disability insurance is provided through Ameritas.

Discounted Legal Services

American Title Agency, LTD provides real estate transactions to our employees at a discounted rate of 25%.  This includes:  successions and wills, mortgages and refinancing, sale or purchase of property, donations and other real estate transactions.

Discounts on theme parks, attractions and shows nationwide.

Credit Union Memberships

Access Health Louisiana employees can benefit from memberships in the following credit unions:  Louisiana Federal FCU, Jefferson Financial FCU and/or New Orleans Fireman’s Federal Credit Union.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer such as Access Health Louisiana.

NHSC Student Loan Repayment Program

Licensed primary care clinicians in eligible disciplines can receive loan repayment assistance through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) repayment program. In exchange for loan repayment, you must serve at least two years of service at an NHSC-approved site in a Health Professional Shortage Area (NPSA).

State of Louisiana Repayment Program

The Louisiana State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) encourages primary care providers to serve in health professional shortage areas (HPSAs). Providers must work for a qualifying non-profit entity, full-time with at least 40 hours per week at a practice accepting Medicaid, Medicare, low-income and uninsured patients.

Tuition Reimbursements

Access Health Louisiana reimburses up to $1500 per calendar year to full-time employees pursuing additional education that will increase their competence in their present jobs and/or prepare them for future advancements within the organization.
