Events
Access Health Louisiana (AHL) is offering free blood pressure and glucose checks for attendees of the Blacks in Government (BIG) Symposium at the Hilton Riverside August 13-16th. The theme of this year’s event is “Eliminating Health Disparities in the African American Community” with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS. Blacks in Government’s health and wellness goal is to provide information on current health issues, offer new treatments and health screenings as part of their training institute. Every issue being addressed at the conference in New Orleans is a health issue impacting the African American community. B.I.G.’s goal wants to help reduce the amount of people dying from treatable and/or preventable diseases.
AHL is proud to be a part of this important health symposium. AHL’s FOCUS team is assisting with outreach at the conference promoting the importance of every person getting tested for HIV and Hepatitis-C. Employees Donna Copelin, Zipora Hall Kawani Adams are also letting attendees know about the new infectious disease clinic opened by AHL this summer. Access Health Louisiana Primary Care at the Pythian offers patients both infectious disease, primary care and behavioral health services. For more information or to make an appointment at our new Pythian location at 234 Loyola Avenue in New Orleans, call (504) 226-2976.
