Our Medical Clinic is currently offering sports physicals. Appointments for medical and behavioral health are available in-person or virtually for students.
Access Health Louisiana (AHL) offers Medical and Behavioral Health services to students at East Jefferson High School. East Jefferson High is one of twelve school-based health centers operated by AHL in the Jefferson Parish School District. Medical services are provided by Katrina Francis, Nurse Practitioner and Erin Bourque, Registered Nurse. They see students for acute and diagnostic care, as well as sports physicals and immunizations. Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) Melissa Keller and Colette Pellissier see students for counseling support. Both offer individual and group therapy counseling sessions for stress and anger management, trauma, depression, anxiety, bullying, or even relationships. The clinic is supported by secretary Katie Wellborn.
The school-based health center is located on the first floor of the Student Services wing.
Parents can request that their child be seen for medical or behavioral health services by calling the front office of East Jefferson High School at (504) 888-7171 or the school-based health center directly.
All students must have a current consent and enrollment form on file to be seen at East Jefferson High for Behavioral Health services. Consent and enrollment forms are sent home at the beginning of the year; however, parents may sign their child up for services at any time during the school year. Digital consent forms may also be found on the right hand side of this webpage.
Co-payments are waived for all students and faculty/staff enrolled at our SBHC. Commercial insurances including Medicaid and Medicare are accepted. Students who are uninsured can also receive care with a consent and enrollment form on file with the health center. Any medications prescribed for your child may be filled through the Access Health Louisiana Pharmacy and delivered to your home. We also work with nearby Walgreens and CVS pharmacies and can have most prescriptions filled at a discounted rate.
If you have an emergency outside of school hours, please call 9-1-1.

“Hi, my name is Melissa Keller and I have 22 years of experience as a social worker in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. For the past 8 years, I have been working around the corner from East Jefferson High School at Bridgedale Elementary School as the Early Intervention Specialist. During my time in the school system, I have worked as both an Early Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Social Worker. Prior to entering JPPSS, I worked as a substance abuse counselor for Jefferson Parish’s Drug Court Program. I look forward to serving the students of East Jefferson High School by providing both individual and group therapy sessions.”
