*New Location*

The Kenner Community Health Center is now open at its new location at 671 West Esplanade Avenue. Patients at the Kenner clinic can select from a variety of services centrally located in one location, including: Adult and Pediatric Primary Care, Behavioral Health, and Podiatry.

WIC (click here for information on applying for WIC benefits) services are located on the second floor at 671 West Esplanade Avenue in Kenner. WIC is the federal supplemental food and nutrition program that offers healthy food choices to breastfeeding or pregnant moms and children up to five years of age. Parents can apply for WIC right on site, as well as apply for Medicaid coverage (click here to find out if you qualify for Medicaid).

Health coaches are available to help patients battling chronic illnesses including diabetes and hypertension.  Services are provided in both English and Spanish.

While most commercial insurances, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, patients are never turned away for care due to their inability to pay. A discount sliding fee scale is offered based on a patient’s household size and income.

A benefit of being an AHL patient is access to medications through our discount pharmacy program known as 340B. Patients can save money on their medications while getting prescriptions filled at pharmacy locations close to home.  The Access Health Louisiana Pharmacy also offers prescription assistance and FREE home delivery of medications.

High standards of care, affordability and convenience are just some of the reasons why the Kenner Community Health Center was recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. Our physicians and staff, many of whom are also bilingual, continually exceed national standards by offering higher quality of care at lower costs. This means a better overall healthcare experience for you our patient.

Access Health Louisiana also offers Behavioral Health Services located at the same location.

Psychiatrist Jonathan Chandler and his team help patients with private, individual therapy sessions.   At the Kenner Community Health Center, we serve infants, children and adults.  We also provide comprehensive psychological testing.  Kenner Community Health Center Behavioral Health is also one of the only facilities in the region that specializes in using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to treat depression and anxiety.  TMS is focused magnetic energy directed to the left side of the brain’s front cortex.

Our skilled providers also specialize in treating:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Autism
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • A variety of other psychological disorders including psychological testing
  • Infant Behavioral Health

For added convenience, we also offer telemedicine for our patients.  Patients can speak to their provider from the convenience of their desktop or mobile device during their scheduled appointment time.  Telemedicine is the perfect complement to on-going patient care.  Kenner Community Health Center Behavioral Health offers almost all of its services via telemedicine.  Patients can use it to speak to their psychiatrist to about a prescription or refill, therapeutic options or assist in scheduling child or senior care appointments.

Certain services must be provided in one of the Access Health Louisiana offices. Any initial assessments or psychological testing must be done on-site. In the early stages of evaluating and diagnosing your condition, your provider needs to see you in person.  This allows your provider to observe your overall health and behaviors. It’s also a good way for you to begin to develop your relationship.

While most commercial insurances, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, patients are never turned away for care due to their inability to pay.  A discount sliding fee scale is offered based on a patient’s household size and income.

The Kenner Community Health Center is a member of the Access Health Louisiana (AHL) Network, the largest network of Federally Qualified Health Centers in Louisiana.
