Mardi Gras

King Cake Smoothie!

Our Health Coach, Johannah Holden (at our Woodworth Community Health Center) has come up with a delicious smoothie that can replace that super sugary king cake and curb your appetite to eat it.

This is possibly the easiest and most nutritious way to satisfy your king cake craving without the added sugar and carbs from your traditional king cake! It is truly like sipping king cake through a straw!

KING CAKE PROTEIN SHAKE:

Makes 1 serving –

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder of your choice. (If you don’t have protein powder at home you can also use 1 vanilla premier protein shake or a Vanilla Glucerna shake)

1 ½ tsp Sugar Free/Fat free Cheesecake pudding mix (dry)

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp butter extract

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tablespoon of almond butter (optional if you want added protein)

1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (Do not use this if you are using the premixed protein shake. You will only need to add the almond milk if you are using a protein powder)

1-2 cups of ICE

INSTRUCTIONS:

Add all ingredients into a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds or until smooth.

If mixture is too thick or thin, add more ice or almond milk until desired consistency is reached.
