Coming Soon: Primary Care on Campus
Access Health Louisiana is preparing to open its new Luling Elementary School-Based Health Center in St. Charles Parish. While services have been offered over the past few years, a dedicated medical clinic space became a reality over the summer of 2026. In mid-September, Luling Elementary students will be able to access primary care and behavioral health services in a new medical space located inside the Family Center on campus. Pediatrician Abbey Lewis-Gallen, M.D., and Family Nurse Practitioner Michelle Comboy will provide medical services. Kerri Nesbit, Licensed Professional Counselor, will provide behavioral health services.

Dr. Abbey Lewis examines a pediatric patient.

The school-based health center will feature two medical exam rooms, a clinical laboratory, reception area, and behavioral health suite. Students can be seen for acute and diagnostic care, well-child and sick visits, immunizations, and sports physicals, as well as individual and group therapy sessions.

Hammill Construction is renovating the space. The project is being overseen by the St. Charles School District and Access Health Louisiana. A grand opening is scheduled for early fall.
Parents must complete a consent and enrollment form in order for their child to receive services on campus. There is no out-of-pocket cost to parents for any service received through the school-based health center program.
