Open Enrollment Period is October 15th through December 7th
The annual Medicare open enrollment period allows senior citizens to enroll, switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage, make changes to existing Medicare Advantage plans, as well as changes to Part D prescription drug coverage. All changes made during this open enrollment period take effect January 1, 2026. Here are some important things to consider:
- Review your current plan and compare it to other options.
- Consider your health needs, budget, and preferred providers.
- If you’re satisfied with your current plan, you don’t need to make any changes.
- New Medicare Advantage and Part D plans may be available for 2026.
- Check for any changes in premiums, benefits, or network providers.

- December 7, 2025: Open Enrollment Ends
- January 1, 2026: Changes made during open enrollment take effect
