At noon, June 21st, Louisiana residents who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, may register for a chance to become one million dollars richer.  Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards announced the “Shot at a Million” campaign last week during a news conference.  The governor and state public health officials hope the million dollar prize will entice more people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.  In addition to the million dollar prize, other prizes are also up for grabs.  Four adults 18 years and older have a chance at winning $100,000 during four separate drawings starting in July.  Ten children ages 12-17 have a chance at winning $100,000 scholarships.  Five separate drawings are being held:  July 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th and 31st.  Even if you receive your first dose of COVID vaccine mid-July, you still have a chance to register.

If you have received at least one dose of Moderna, Pfizer or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, click here to enter for your “Shot at a Million”.  Adults will need to enter their driver’s license number for verification with the state.  For more information, visit the state’s website to read more about how the contest works.
