The Trans and Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) Affirming Care Strategy Team presented their fourth educational forum, “Transgender Community Feedback Forum”, on Friday, January 17th at Tulane University. The free forum included local healthcare agencies like Access Health Louisiana who provide care for people of the transgender community in Orleans Parish.
The TGNC team is committed to providing solutions of quality and accessible healthcare and economic equity for people of the transgender experience. The round table discussion educated attendees on how to implement proper identification options in their current systems. The conversation focused on introducing the TGNC Affirming Care Strategy Team’s 5-Point Plan to community agencies.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Access Health Louisiana representatives participated in the forum to learn best practices on how to offer equitable care for all patients. AHL provides convenient and affordable healthcare to all individuals, regardless of identification, cultural background or lifestyle preferences.
TGNC’s 5 Point Plan includes strategies to improve local healthcare delivery services to the trans community. It also promotes systemic change to improve services for people of the transgender experience.
