Access Health Louisiana will provide both Primary Care & Behavioral Health services this school year for students attending John Ehret High School!
The John Ehret School-Based Health Center (SBHC) is one of twelve school health center service sites operated by Access Health Louisiana (AHL) in Jefferson Parish. It is located in Marrero on the west bank side of the Mississippi River. AHL provides both the Primary Care and Behavioral Health services for this clinic. The John Ehret SBHC is accessible for all high school students because it is located at the back of campus connected by covered breezeways.
Telemedicine appointments are available for students participating in virtual learning.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Margaret Haydel provides behavioral health counseling at the clinic. She sees students for a variety of reasons including: stress and anger management, anxiety, trauma, depression and bullying. Therapy is offered on an individual or group basis. Students can visit Mrs. Haydel by going to the health center.

Primary Care services are provided by Nurse Practitioner Lily Ramirez. She sees students for well & sick visits, immunizations, sports physicals, and acute & diagnostic care. Dr. Marlon Joseph also sees students for Pediatric care. He is accompanied by Dr John Carlson, Pediatric Pulmonologist, and medical residents from University of Queensland. Residents for 2025-26 include Dr. Shivam Gulati, Dr. Sherif Shoela, Dr. Elyssa Mejia, Dr. Etaluka Mungu, Dr. Sarajane Laude, Dr. Sneha Tummala, Dr. Hala Taha, Dr. Maria Aman, Dr. Yuri Strubinger Galavis, and Dr. Jagriti Paul.
All students must have a current consent and enrollment form on file at the health center in order to be seen by medical staff. Consent and enrollment forms are sent home at the beginning of the year; however, parents may sign their child up for services at any time during the school year. Digital consent forms can be found on the right side of this webpage.
Co-payments are waived for all students and faculty/staff enrolled at our SBHC. Commercial insurance including Medicaid and Medicare are accepted. Students who are uninsured can also receive care with a consent and enrollment form on file with the health center. Any medications prescribed for your child may be filled through the Access Health Louisiana Pharmacy and delivered to your home. We also work with nearby Walgreens and CVS pharmacies and can have most prescriptions filled at a discounted rate.
Students needing emergency care after hours, please call 9-1-1.
