AHL’S ANNUAL FINISHING STRONG EVENT AT BOGALUSA HIGH SCHOOL
AHL’s Annual “Finish Strong” Event at Bogalusa High School was a huge success! The participating grades included 8th-11th which was about 425 students.
The BASIS for this outreach is to Educate Students about the dangers of Fentanyl and other illegal drugs as well as create an interactive & participatory learning experience to engage the students; students would become aware of potential consequences, resources & processes involved with addressing actions taken when engaging in illegal drug activities. We know that students are hearing about drugs & unfortunately possibly experimenting with drugs, the plan is to engage and encourage the students to become knowledgeable & equipped with resources aimed in helping them to make good decisions.
The 2024 AHL Finish Strong Committee included Principal Dr. Greely, Katasha Robinson, Regina Meyerchick, Jana Palmer, and Angela Houlemard.
Students were pre-registered and completed pre and post surveys to gage their understanding. Completion of the post surveys and participation in the learning games allowed the students to enter to win prizes.
Each grade was given time to cycle through Interactive Stations which included:
- Access Health Louisiana ENTRY Survey & Registration table
- Hospital (Triage ER)
- Jail
- Courthouse (Judge, Prosecution, & Defense Attorneys)
- Probation/Parole
- Peer Support/Mental Health
- Funeral
- Games
- AHL EXIT SURVEY Table
