Access Health Louisiana (AHL) is expanding its school-based health center program to Hahnville High School for the 2022-23 school year.  Behavioral health services will be offered to any student on campus during the school day.  Licensed Professional Counselor Amber Guidry offers counseling and support services to students including: stress and anger management, dealing with anxiety, bullying, substance abuse, grief counseling, and communication.  Individual and group therapy sessions can be scheduled.  Mrs. Guidry’s office is located in the main school building on the second floor in the Counselor’s Suite.

Angie Ruiz, LCSW | Director

Mrs. Guidry is a proud Hahnville alum and is excited to return to campus!  She looks forward to working with the students and helping them to achieve their goals.  “I have extensive experience working with adolescents dealing with various challenges.  I strive to provide an accepting environment for students to feel comfortable and empowered while discussing issues that may feel vulnerable.  I hope to be an additional asset to your student’s high school experience.”

Virtual appointments are also available for students from home.  To be seen by Mrs. Guidry, parents must complete a consent and enrollment form and submit it to the wellness center.  Consent and enrollment forms are sent home with the students at the start of the school year; however, parents may sign their child up at any time during the school year.  Copies of these forms may be found on the right side of this webpage.  Please remember that children who do not have consent forms on file cannot be seen for wellness center services.

Co-pays are waived for all students and faculty/staff enrolled at our wellness center.  Commercial insurances including Medicaid and Medicare are accepted.  Students who are uninsured can also receive care with a consent and enrollment form on file with the wellness center.  Any medications prescribed for your child may be filled through our Access Health Louisiana Pharmacy and delivered to your home the next day for free.

Students needing emergency care after school hours, please call 9-1-1.  You can also visit our nearby St. Charles Community Health Center located at 843 Milling Avenue in Luling Monday-Thursdays 8am until 4:30pm and on Friday and Saturday from 8am-noon.

Access Health Louisiana operates 41 school-based health centers in twelve parishes.  To learn more about our successful program, click here.
